Roles and Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with other interdisciplinary health team members
Room patients when coverage is needed
Clean, disinfect, and autoclave medical instruments in compliance with the clinical safety standards
Set up, clean & maintain examination rooms as directed
Coordinate specimens pick up/drop off
Potential future phlebotomy training and implementation of skills
Participate in team meetings
Assist in the collection of data as required for reporting purposes
Effectively utilize a computer to document pertinent patient information
Desired Skills and Experience
Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Medical Office Assistant (MOA) background
Phlebotomy experience or certification is an asset
Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications
Commitment to respect and maintain patient confidentiality
Track record of being reliable with attendance and follow-through
Show initiative and positive attitude, jumping in to assist as needed
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement
Appreciation of the importance of conduct and behaviour in the workplace
Previous computer electronic medical record (EMR) experience is an asset
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
A minimum of two Covid vaccines (must provide documentation)
Current and satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Persons Check
