We are looking for someone passionate about climbing who is seeking to engage with Beaumont's community at the BSRC. Climbing Gym Instructors are key to the success of our programs, individuals who do well in this role are relationship focused as climbing is a community centered sport.
Responsibilities
Monitor climbing wall operations during group bookings, programs, and drop-in
Instruct & maintain knowledge of climbing programs, coach technical climbing skills
Belay participants during group bookings, programs, and drop-in
Access control, check in, and POS operations using Rock Gym Pro software
Equipment inspections and housekeeping tasks (document scanning & classification, hold washing, vacuuming, etc.)*
Support of events and seasonal program demands
Occasional wall maintenance
Availability
We are seeking applicants with weekend and weekday, daytime and evening availability.
Shifts average around 4 hours long, our greatest need is for Mon / Wed / Fri availability.
Experience
Experience and active participation in rope climbing or bouldering is required
Experience working with kids is strongly preferred
Experience coaching other youth sports is an asset to this position (gymnastics, swimming, dance, team sports, etc.)*
CWI certification is preferred, in-house training and certification available
SFA-C certification & vulnerable sector police records check required
