Clip 'n Climb Saskatoon is a locally-owned, independent, family-friendly climbing gym. We offer drop-in climbing options as well as field trips for schools, birthday parties, private rentals, and day camps. All of our walls use auto-belays, making it easy for everyone to join in, no matter their age, experience or fitness level. We are looking for fun and energetic team players to join our crew. Climbing experience is not required and all training will be provided by the employer.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Climbing Floor Attendant, you will work as part of a team of 2-5 Instructors, alongside 1-2 Receptionists. Duties include:

- Giving

safety briefings

to groups of up to 35 climbers, showing them how to use the climbing equipment and belay system;

Monitoring clients

while in the climbing arena, making sure everybody stays safe and has a great time, and giving advice and encouragement to clients as needed;

- Assisting clients in a prompt and efficient manner whenever required;

- Performing regular

safety checks

on the equipment and assisting with equipment maintenance as needed;

- Helping

keep the facility clean and tidy

before, during and after climbing hours;

- Helping with

reception duties

as needed (answering phones and emails, signing customers in and out, taking payments).

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will:

- Be a great communicator, comfortable speaking in front of large groups and able to call the attention of a group or of individuals to themselves in a prompt and friendly manner;

- Present themselves in a friendly, professional manner;

- Be able to be active and on their feet for several hours at a time;

- Be comfortable working at heights (up to 32');

- Have great attention to detail and superior work ethic;

- Be highly reliable, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience working with groups of varying ages (including children and adults) and/or leading fitness or recreation activities is an asset. Climbing skills and experience are an asset but are not required for this position.

Posted wage is the starting wage, and wage after the probation period will be adjusted based on experience, qualifications and job performance. Pay rate will increase after satisfactory 3-month probation period.

REQUIRED AVAILABILITY

- MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS (SATURDAYS AND ESPECIALLY SUNDAYS).



- MUST BE AVAILABLE SOME WEEKDAY EVENINGS STARTING AT 4PM.



- Weekday daytime availability is an asset but not necessary.



- MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK A LARGE PORTION OF THE HOLIDAY BREAK (Dec 19 - Jan 5) and of the February school break (FEB 16-20).
