Under the supervision of the Manager, Information Systems (IS), the Client Support Representative is responsible for providing support services within the Information Systems team, as well as the day-to-day systems administration, user access and front-line support of various information databases and systems. The Client Support Representative assists with help desk call triage, device inventory management and performs other related duties. The Client Support Representative performs all duties in accordance with the mission, vision, values, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Yukon Hospital Corporation (YHC), as well as applicable legislation.

Knowledge and skills required for this position are as follows:

  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures, including skills in arithmetic, grammar, composition, spelling, and punctuation;
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of various software and spreadsheet programs (MS-Office, Outlook, Excel and Access, Risk Monitor Pro and Internet applications);
  • Familiarity and skill in current office technology and equipment;
  • Superior oral and written communication skills;
  • Good research and report writing skills;
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Sound organization skills;
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities and receiving direction from multiple sources;
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal working relationships;
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member;
  • Detail-oriented, thoroughness, reliability;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, use tact and diplomacy, and work under pressure; and,
  • Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
The successful candidate will have completed a one-year secretarial/Client Support Representative program and coursework in Information Systems/Business Administration including research methods, techniques and analysis (2-3 courses) at a recognized college or training institution plus two to three years\' experience in an office setting, with a requirement to work with independence a considerable amount of the time and have a Grade 12 Diploma. An equivalent combination of education/training and/or experience may be considered. Fit testing certificate and Certification in Non-violent Crisis Intervention or other Violence Intervention programs would be a desired qualification.
