Position Overview

Are you a friendly and organized individual with a knack for customer service? Join our team as a Client Services Representative ! In this pivotal role, you'll manage the reception area of our Employment Services Centre, including operating the switchboard, greeting visitors, directing them to the appropriate services, and handling phone calls and messages. You'll also be responsible for scheduling appointments and performing various clerical duties. If you excel at creating a welcoming atmosphere and have strong communication and organizational skills, we'd love to hear from you!
Reporting to the Program Manager, you will manage incoming calls, relay messages, provide information, and schedule appointments. You'll screen potential clients for case management services, assist with initial intake forms and online registration, and handle client case transfers between WorkBC locations. Your role will also involve tracking and assisting with employment follow-ups (4-, 24-, and 52-week employment), maintaining statistics on service interactions, recording staff leave, and supporting program marketing efforts as needed. Additionally, you will help coordinate interpreter bookings and maintain records of interpreter hours.
Qualifications
==================
The ideal candidate for this position should have a high school diploma, preferably with a post-secondary administrative certificate or equivalent experience in the employment field. A minimum of three years' experience as a Client Services Representative or Receptionist in a fast-paced setting is required, along with a strong understanding of employment services and community resources. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and ideally ICM, and experience with multi-line switchboards are necessary.
The role demands excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage diverse clientele with patience and calm. The successful candidate must be flexible, ethical regarding confidentiality, and proactive in both independent and team settings. A commitment to handling sensitive issues with care, cultural sensitivity, and a 'can do' attitude is essential. Additional assets include second language skills or crisis line experience.
This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
