We are currently looking for an experienced Client Services Assistant (CSA) to work as a critical team member in our Claims Services Department. In this role you will be responsible for calculating benefit entitlement, while providing support to Case Managers, Intake Adjudicators and Extended Services Adjudicators, to ensure the effective management of claims in the Claims Services Department. More about the role Some key responsibilities of the Claims Services Assistant position include:

  • Playing an integral role in client services management, by determining and actioning:
    • Rate adjustments
    • Permanent partial disability payments
    • Occupational disease claims
    • Pension replacement benefits
    • Early and safe return to work adjustments
    • Health care claims
    • 13-week rate reviews
  • Providing support to ensure payment of benefits in accordance with the Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Act (the Act).
  • Calculating benefits using the applicable legislation. The CSA is responsible for monitoring the timeframe that benefits are to be paid. Calculates rate adjustments where new earnings information is provided.
  • Communicating information and decisions to clients (i.e. injured workers, employers, health care professionals and vendors) in a clear and concise manner by written and oral communications.
Ideal Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a two-year Business Administration/Management diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum of one-year experience related to accounting functions in a financial or insurance environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative, independent judgment, well-developed interpersonal, written communication and organizational skills.
  • The candidate should also have a good knowledge of WorkplaceNL policies, procedures and legislation as they relate to this position.
