Client Relationship Manager – Entrepreneur Programs (funding & Investment Focus)

Job Description

As a Client Relationship Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the growth and success of emerging entrepreneurs within our accelerator ecosystem. This position focuses heavily on investment readiness, funding navigation, and connecting founders to capital sources, including private investors, venture capital firms, and government funding programs. You will guide startups through our application and support process, helping them strengthen their business plans, refine financial models, and access the right funding pathways to scale their ventures.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Vancouver, BC in person five days a week.

Key Responsibilities Application Screening



Review startup applications, business plans, and financial forecasts to assess eligibility for accelerator programs and funding opportunities. Identify potential issues or risks related to business model, market readiness, or financial assumptions. Analyze financial and credit information where applicable to evaluate funding suitability and determine next steps for investor or government program alignment. Recommend improvement actions or connect entrepreneurs with resources to strengthen funding proposals and improve investment appeal. Maintain accurate records and compliance across all funding-related activities.

Entrepreneur Consultation



Provide coaching and feedback to enhance business plans, financial projections, and pitch materials for funding readiness. Guide founders on identifying and preparing for investor engagement, venture capital meetings, and non-dilutive funding applications. Support startups in developing clear financial narratives, cash flow models, and return-on-investment justifications for potential investors. Manage the flow of applications to ensure alignment with program timelines, milestones, and funding cycles.

Funding and Investment Coordination



Serve as a key liaison between entrepreneurs and potential investors, accelerators, and government funding partners. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Canadian and provincial funding programs (e.g., SR&ED, IRAP, PacifiCan, NRC programs, and venture grants). Assist founders in preparing complete and compliant submissions for funding applications and investor presentations. Track and report on funding outcomes, investment connections, and disbursement milestones.

Internal Collaboration



Collaborate with adjudication, finance, and program teams to ensure all applicants meet eligibility and funding criteria. Support the business development team by identifying funding trends, investor interests, and potential partnership opportunities. Contribute to improving internal processes and resources that enhance entrepreneur funding outcomes.

Qualifications



Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. 2-3 years of experience in investment readiness, financial services, client relations, or entrepreneurship support. Strong understanding of startup financing, venture capital, and government grant programs. Proven ability to analyze financials and business plans for funding viability. Excellent client service, communication, and relationship-management skills. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proactive, solution-driven approach and strong interpersonal skills. Passion for empowering entrepreneurs and contributing to Canada's innovation and investment ecosystem.

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
