About the Role



Targeted Accounting is growing, and we're looking for an accounting professional with a growth mindset to join us as an Client Onboarding Manager. This high-impact, fully remote role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves building systems/processes, and is passionate about delivering value to clients from day one.

This isn't your typical accounting role. You'll be the first point of contact for new clients -- leading onboarding engagements, reviewing and documenting their existing processes, configuring cloud-based tools, and ensuring accurate financials and efficient workflows are in place. Once onboarding is complete, you'll collaborate with our internal teams to ensure a seamless handoff for ongoing support.

We're looking for a solution-oriented, accountable, and customer-focused team player who brings structure and clarity to every engagement.

What You'll Do



Lead onboarding engagements for new clients -- documenting existing accounting processes, team responsibilities, and confirming scope of work/budgets. Identify inefficiencies in workflows and propose improvements or tools. Configure accounting systems and tools, ensuring proper set up that caters to the client's processes. Manage catch-up bookkeeping for clients who are behind, ensuring clean, organized records and a smooth handoff to the maintenance team. Ensure accurate books, by completing the balance sheet reconciliations / working papers and reviewing the YTD profit and loss statements. Act as the bridge between onboarding and long-term maintenance teams, ensuring continuity and client satisfaction. Support junior bookkeeping staff by offering technical guidance and mentoring. Stay accountable to timelines, deliverables, and client expectations.

Qualifications



QBO Advanced Certification (Basic required at hire; Advanced within 30 days). 3+ years of hands-on Canadian QBO experience. Experience onboarding clients and/or setting up new accounting systems. Familiarity with Hubdoc, Dext, PayEdge is a plus. Background in public practice, year-end preparation, or audit is an asset. Strong client relationship and communication skills. Excellent time management, attention to detail, and project management.
