Your Opportunity:Lander Treatment Centre, located in Claresholm (one and half hours south of Calgary) is an Alberta Health Services short-term intensive, residential addiction treatment facility supporting adults experiencing problems as a result of their alcohol use, other drug use, or gambling. The facility and program provide opportunity for individuals to reflect, make positive changes, and begin to rebuild their lives. We are looking for a casual Client Care Assistant (CCA) who will provide support and care for clients under the supervision of a nurse. In addition to the as detailed below, other responsibilities may include answering phones, photocopying, some general housekeeping duties, observation and reporting (both written and verbal) and assisting with some basic program delivery. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. As the successful incumbent, you will also be required to demonstrate proficiency in strong listening and communication skills, positive team interactions, effective decision-making skills, the ability to adapt to the various challenges and unexpected situations that occur in a residential setting and the ability to observe and address client behaviours. An expectation of the role is the consistent availability to work a variety of days, evenings, nights and weekends, with the majority of shifts being 12-hour shifts. Due to the location of the position in Claresholm, AB, applicants within the south zone are welcome to apply.Description:As a Client Care Assistant, you will work as a team member with all staff assisting in the provision of supportive care to clients with addictions. Your primary duties include providing supportive care to clients, ensuring a safe and secure facility, responding to client requests, communicating effectively with other staff and contributing to a therapeutic environment through interaction with clients. As part of an interprofessional team, you will contribute to the delivery of residential services to persons with an addiction promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. You will support clients to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will also work collaboratively with other health and service providers to maintain a safe and supportive environment.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:A valid Class V driver\'s license. Standard First Aid. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing/pulling, kneeling, crouching, and reaching while carrying loads of varying size and weights. Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with clients who have addiction and mental health concerns. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.
