Job Summary
The Clerk Stenographer II provides administrative support including minute-taking, mail distribution, typing from dictation, payroll, typing correspondence and reports, scheduling meetings and telephone reception. The incumbent will act as a liaison between physicians, technologists and clients. Receives messages for physicians and technologists as well as clients relating to prescription orders and diagnostic test results. Retrieves charts for departmental clinics and requests charts from Health Records. Directs clients to proper areas and ensures patient registration. Other related duties as assigned.

Occasionally required to lift and move office supplies, files and mail weighing up to 10 lbs. and occasionally weighing 10 to 25 pounds with use of trolley to transport.
Occasionally required to bend and stretch to retrieve/return files.
Constantly required to sit and perform fine finger/precision computer related work in the performance of daily activities.
Visual concentration is required to transcribe shorthand into appropriate correspondence and enter information into an electronic document control system.
Auditory concentration is required for taking dictation and responding to telephone inquiries.
Job Qualifications
Successful completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college is required.
Successful completion of an approved/recognized medical terminology course is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
*Proof of a current office administration program and medical terminology is required. To be considered current, they must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.
** If medical terminology isn\'t current, a medical terminology test may be administered by the Human Resources Client Services Department.
