The main purpose of this position is to support/maintain program standards and to provide direction/input into the development of program standards as it relates to nursing/administrative processes for the Public Health Nursing programs. This is a leadership role requiring complex multi-tasking and has regional responsibilities. This position provides support to Health Promotion staff and the Public Health Nursing Leadership team based on program priorities. In addition, this position will work collaboratively with the Clerk IVA positions within the Public Health Nursing Program. This will include providing frontline support to the nursing staff and the ability to provide guidance, direction and support to the individual administrative personnel operating within the public health program.Responsibilities include leading/facilitating of professional development opportunities, developing and maintaining program statistical data bases, and ensuring data collection and review for quality, providing offsite consultation/monitoring/support as required and onsite monitoring/auditing/support with the Public Health admin support to facilitate program standards as required. This position will support management processes through payroll processing, administrative scheduling and program orientation; provide organizational support for lone worker monitoring system (i.e. Safetyline) and program statistics (i.e. Preschool Health Check, Health Beginnings, Prenatal, Sexual Health, Waitlist Management), as well as provide relief to the reception at the assigned site and support all NL Health Services Population and Public Health employees.Job Demands

Successful completion of a two-year Office Administration or Business Management program from an approved/recognized college is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. A minimum of five years of experience within the last seven working in a progressively responsible clerical role in public health nursing is required. Public Health nursing experience includes clerical support/experience in the following public health nursing programs: Child Health Clinics, Healthy Beginnings, Preschool Health Checks and Sexual Health.
A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver\'s License and the use of a private vehicle are conditions of employment.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.*Proof of a current office administration/business management program is required.
