Job Description


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of a recognized Office Procedures course or minimum two (2) years continuous experience in a relevant position
  • Successful completion of Medical Terminology I & II, or equivalent
  • Minimum 35-45 wpm typing speed with accuracy
  • Demonstrated evidence of effective time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated competence operating a PC workstation with related work experience using current word processing applications (including Microsoft office), as well as capable of learning other software programs that are particular to the department
  • Demonstrated data entry proficiency using various databases
  • Evidence of ability to be accurate and attentive to detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Evidence of ability to work in a team environment and interact professionally with the public and health care professionals
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
  • Current Heart Saver Certificate
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis


This position is subject to a Criminal Records Check (including vulnerable sector), Adult Abuse Registry Check, and a Child Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any services charges incurred.
