About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, the Team Lead is a key position within Centralized Staffing. The Team Lead is responsible for leading the team of staffing clerks to ensure that staff is scheduled in accordance with the collective agreements, deadlines are being met and adequate staff is available to meet patient needs on the nursing units. This leadership role communicates, participates in the development of and ensures adherence to policies and procedures, as established for Centralized Staffing. The Team Lead provides orientation, coaching and support to the Centralized Staffing team and works closely with the Assistant Manager and Manager as well as assisting in processes (e.g., recruitment, scheduling) to ensure the needs of the team are met.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Grade XII plus one-year post-secondary program in office administration, or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years related clerical/administration experience with staff scheduling in a unionized environment
  • Extensive knowledge of hospital systems (i.e. Kronos) and daily problem solving.
  • Ability to support and educate managers and staff in a courteous, helpful manner
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Thorough knowledge of the NSGEU collective agreements with ability to interpret and apply accordingly
  • Demonstrated experience working within tight timelines.
  • Experienced in developing relationships and acting as a liaison between functional groups
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent Full-time position; 70 hours biweekly
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends and after-hours support (on-call)
Compensation and Incentives

$24.96 - $27.61 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
