With over 1500 stores in all 10 provinces, you may know us as Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Foodland, FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, Lawton's Drug Stores or another of our great banners but we are all one extended family.All career opportunities will be open a minimum of 5 business days from the date of posting.We are looking for an all purpose clerk at our Safeway English Bay location in the vibrant west end of downtown Vancouver.Within this postion we are looking for a cashier, duties to include ringing up customers and processing transactions.A grocery clerk for day shifts, who is able to lift up to 50 lbs, stock shelves, merchanidse, help with display building as well as being on a check stand.These above postions are interchangable and can be cross tranined for buisness needs.Must be avaialble to work evenings, weekends and holidays up to 40 hours.We are also looking fo night crew postion, which would be an overnight shift. Must have the ability to work through the night, stocking shelves, facing and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.On the job training will be provided for all three areas.Must be avaialbe to work up to 40 hours per week.We are also looking for someone for our produce department.Duties will include unloading heavy orders, must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Operating a power jack, working in cold temperatures, coolers.Must have evening availability, as well as weekends up to 40 hours per week.OverviewAbout Safeway:Safeway grocery stores provide an exceptional food shopping experience to consumers from Vancouver, British Columbia to Thunder Bay, Ontario. Key Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway's programs
• Process cash register payments by cash, cheque, credit card, gift card and debit
• Wrap and place merchandise in bags / carts
• Maintain cleanliness of check stands
• Stocking product to shelves such as Dairy, Frozen, perishable (produce) and non-perishables
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
• Rotation of product
• Loading and unloading of product for the sales floor
• Backroom and inventory management
• Any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
