OVERVIEW
The Clerical Navigator position is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all referrals, diagnostic investigations, and treatments for referred patients; ensuring all information is available to patient and care providers prior to and during the patients visit(s) to the hospital. The Clerical Navigator will acts as part of an interdisciplinary team, facilitating patient flow through the Diagnostic Imaging Dept.
This involves booking appointments, registration, file management, orientation of the patient/family to the unit, data collection and procurement of supplies. The Clerical Navigator will also The Clerical Navigator will work with the Project Manager and CCO Data Lead (OLSP) to develop and implement rocesses to ensure the integrity of patient data collected for the purposes of submission for the purposes of quality control and improvement and program funding.
EDUCATION
• Medical terminology certificate preferred.
• Evidence of on-going education in office administration and MS office application (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) training.
• Public Relations/customer service training preferred
• Successful completion of Cerner training
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 2 years recent related experience in an ambulatory high volume clinical environment required. Diagnostic Imaging, including Respirology experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Expert in data collection for data quality and reporting purposes.
• Demonstrated high standards of accuracy and efficiency required. Able to manipulate data to produce timely utilization reports.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of an interdisciplinary team in an extremely fast paced environment
• Ability to multi-task and proven organizational skills
• Proven innovation in problem solving skills and critical thinking
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, when dealing with co-workers, other
disciplines, other departments, patients/families, family physicians, and external agencies
• Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in providing education/training to adults an asset.
• Able to manage own workload and is self-directed and able to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Demonstrated ability to be receptive to instruction/direction and changes
• Professional telephone etiquette is mandatory
• Expert in Cerner PM Registration, Cerner Powerchart, Teletracking, ANSOS, MS Office applications,
for example, Word and Excel
• Expert withPlexxus SAP-SRM requisitioning and troubleshooting
• Demonstrated knowledge of procedures, terminology and equipment related to hemodialysis.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with patients, to provide family centered care
