As a Cleaner at Huronia Historical Parks, you'll play an involved role in keeping Sainte Marie among the Hurons clean, safe, and welcoming. Your core responsibilities will include:
cleaning public and staff areas like washrooms, offices, and visitor spaces
caring for historic buildings and furnishings by using proper techniques to clean woodwork, artifacts, and display areas
following health and safety protocols to ensure a clean environment during daily operations and special events
helping with seasonal operations by guiding student workers and assisting with basic maintenance tasks
managing cleaning supplies by tracking inventory, making small purchases, and safely handling of cleaning materials
Please note: You will need to perform physically challenging tasks such as walking, standing, twisting, lifting and repeated bending
What you bring to the team

Mandatory requirements
You have a valid "G" driver's license, or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario
Technical expertise:
You have demonstrated experience with cleaning methods and the use of cleaning equipment and materials to ensure proper use
You have knowledge of WHMIS requirements for the handling and storage for corrosive and toxic materials/chemical solutions used for cleaning
You have knowledge of relevant sections of the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements
You can learn cleaning techniques and conservation practices associated with reproduction and period furnishings
General skills:
You can identify maintenance needs and repairs and supply shortages
You have communication skills to provide information about cleaning, repair and maintenance matters to staff members, to assist with training of students, and to occasionally instruct and direct visitors
You have experience maintaining records of the use of cleaning materials, and other supplies
You have prioritization skills to ensure tasks are completed daily
