Position Summary

:

The Northern Nations Wellness Centre (NNWC) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner to ensure our Primary Care Clinic remains clean, sanitary, and welcoming. The Cleaner will be responsible for daily cleaning duties after clinic hours and a thorough deep clean once a month. This position requires a high level of responsibility, trustworthiness, and the ability to work independently.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean and disinfect surfaces, including counters, exam tables, and high-touch areas.

Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors in all areas.

Vacuum carpets and floor mats.

Empty garbage and recycling bins and replace liners.

Clean and sanitize washrooms, including sinks, toilets, and mirrors.

Refill soap dispensers, hand sanitizer dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies as needed.

Dust and wipe down furniture, windowsills, and fixtures.

Perform a monthly deep clean, including scrubbing floors, polishing floors, sanitizing hard-to-reach areas, cleaning windows, cleaning appliances (oven, fridges, microwaves, and coffee pots) and washing walls where necessary.

Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning products following WHMIS guidelines.

Report any maintenance or safety issues to management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience in commercial or healthcare cleaning is an asset.

3-5 years of experience cleaning in other settings required.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

Ability to work independently and efficiently after hours.

Must be trustworthy, responsible, and reliable.

WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification is required.

Ability to lift and carry moderate loads (e.g., garbage bags, cleaning supplies).

Additional information:

Hourly wage $26-33

Flexible evening hours. Cleaning must be done after hours; from 5pm onward.
