Position Overview:



We are seeking an experienced

Class 5 - Hook Lift Driver

to join our team based in the Greater Calgary area. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating hook lift trucks to deliver and retrieve containers for our residential, commercial, construction, and industrial customers. This role is essential to maintaining our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction throughout the region.

This position is available for a Monday through Friday shift, with one Saturday a month rotation.

Key Responsibilities

(including but not limited to):

Operate hook lift trucks to deliver and pick up hook lift containers and bins at customer locations. Safely operate hydraulic hook lift systems to load, transport, and unload various container types. Complete daily pre-trip and post trip inspections to ensure mechanical and safety systems are in legal and road safe condition. Ensure timely and secure delivery or pickup of services at specified locations. Position containers accurately using hook lift controls in tight or challenging spaces. Transfer all materials collected to the appropriate transfer station, landfill, or designated drop-off location. Maintain load security to prevent movement and spillage during transit. Navigate residential areas, commercial sites, and construction zones safely and efficiently. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel usage, and service times. Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding service schedules and any site-specific requirements. Keep equipment clean and well-maintained. Perform basic maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly. Perform physically demanding duties such as heavy lifting, climbing on/off units, getting in/out of units, and securing loads. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Provide courteous and professional customer service at all job sites. Other job duties as required, as the above duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Qualifications:



Valid Class 5 driver's license in good standing. Clean driver's abstract required for insurance purposes. Previous commercial driving experience considered an asset. Experience operating hook lift trucks and hydraulic hook lift systems considered a strong asset. Previous waste management or hauling experience is beneficial. Familiarity with Greater Calgary area routes and municipalities is an advantage. Experience with container delivery and customer service considered an asset. Must successfully pass a company road test during the interview process to demonstrate driving competency. Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is mandatory. Willingness to participate in and complete required safety training, including company-specific operational procedures and equipment training. Strong ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety issues. Proven ability to accurately complete required documentation, electronic logging, and reporting in a timely manner. Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules and operational requirements as needed. Physical capability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions. Effective communication and customer service skills. Self-starter with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
