Summary:

Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Class 5 Driver is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of materials through the operation of trucks and forklifts.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment testing and requires a commercial Class 5 Driver\'s License (or equivalent), and a satisfactory Driver\'s Abstract to support insurability. Employee is also required to complete an in-house road-test prior to onboarding.

Key Focuses:

  • Operating commercial vehicles
  • Completing daily driver logs in accordance with Alberta\xe2\x80\x99s hour of service regulations
  • Fill out pre and post trip inspections
  • Ensure vehicle is properly equipped and in proper working order
  • Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Follow the scheduled plan for deliveries and inform supervisor if you must deviate for any reason
  • Maintain shipping and loading documents
  • Maintain professional driving habits at all times
  • Be alert to risks and threats in order to prevent losses before they occur
  • Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge and Requirements:
  • Valid Class five (5) driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and clean five (5) year drivers abstract \xe2\x80\x93 All applications must include a five (5) year commercial driver abstract, current within 30 days, in order to receive consideration.
  • Grade twelve (12) Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience is required
  • Valid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS and OSSA or BSO) is required
  • Forklift Certification is an asset
  • Ability to speak, read and write English is required
  • Warehousing/yard work experience is an asset
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
This is a full time position located north of Fort McMurray on Syncrude site; Route A Driver
Work Schedule: Team 30 (5 on, 4 off, 4 on, 5 off schedule; 12 hours per day)
