Class 3 Route Delivery Driver (Full Time) - Quebec City, QC

Main task

The Cylinder Delivery Truck Driver is responsible for delivering compressed gas cylinders to customer sites or premises.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver cylinders of gaseous products to intended customers by tandem truck, single axle or tractor-trailer combination; Load and unload bottles, count and record product quantities and styles to ensure actual loading is in accordance with shipping documents; Delivery drivers must load and unload cylinders; Complete electronic route reports, fuel slips and other required reports; Conduct customer equipment surveys Use a handheld to record deliveries to customer sites Follow all standard operating procedures to safely deliver to customer sites; Conducting pre and post delivery route inspections; Ability to work on potential on-call operational support shifts (depending on location).

Qualifications required

Education

High school diploma or equivalent experience

Experience

36 months of experience as a prerequisite for selection for commercial vehicle drivers; 24 months of relevant driving experience in the previous 3 years with equipment of similar size and type to those that the driver will use No incidents equivalent to a "preventable" Level 1 or 2 vehicle incident in the last 24 months;a Road test to verify the defensive and safe driving abilities of commercial drivers; Medical confirmation of fitness for drivers of commercial vehicles. Relevant product knowledge and experience preferred.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required

Mechanical ability; Knowledge of compressed gases and safe gas handling; Valid DZ/Class 3 or AZ/Class 1 (as applicable) with air brake endorsement; Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training; Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training; Vehicle maintenance concepts; Knowledge of an on-board computer; Able to use a smartphone.
