Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Class 3 Roll-Off Driver
to join our team based in the Greater Calgary Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks to deliver and retrieve containers ranging from 10-40 yards for our residential, commercial, construction, and industrial customers. This role is essential to maintaining our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction across the region.
This position is available for a Monday through Friday shift, with one Saturday a month rotation or a Tuesday through Saturday shift.
Key Responsibilities
(including but not limited to):
Operate roll-off trucks to deliver and pick up open-top containers (10 to 40-yard bins) at residential, commercial, construction, and industrial sites.
Complete daily pre and post trip inspections to ensure mechanical and safety systems are in legal and road safe condition.
Safely operate hydraulic cable hoist systems to load and unload roll-off containers.
Ensure proper placement of containers at specified locations with adequate clearance and level ground.
Accurately assess site conditions for safe container placement and retrieval.
Transfer all materials collected to the appropriate transfer station, landfill, or designated drop-off location.
Maintain load security to prevent movement and spillage during transit.
Navigate tight spaces, residential streets, construction zones, and various terrain conditions.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel usage, and service times.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and site personnel regarding service requirements and any issues.
Perform basic maintenance tasks on your truck including washing, reporting issues to the mechanic team and to dispatch.
Perform physically demanding duties such as heavy lifting, climbing on/off units, securing loads, and operating equipment.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Provide professional customer service and represent the company positively at all job sites.

Qualifications:
Valid Class 3 driver's license in good standing with minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience.
Clean driver's abstract required for insurance purposes.
Experience operating roll-off trucks and hydraulic cable hoist systems considered a strong asset.
Previous waste management or construction site hauling experience is beneficial.
Familiarity with Greater Calgary Area routes and municipalities is an advantage.
Experience with commercial container placement and retrieval considered an asset.
Must successfully pass a company road test during the interview process to demonstrate driving competency.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is mandatory.
Willingness to participate in and complete required safety training, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and company-specific operational procedures.
Strong ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety issues.
Proven ability to accurately complete required documentation, electronic logging, and reporting in a timely manner.
Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules and operational requirements as needed.
Physical capability to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Self-starter with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
