Class 3 Drivers
Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with 49 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week Location: Fort McMurray, AB - no direct access to public transportation Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements:

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
• Valid Class 3 Driver’s License

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing (swab or urine based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Class 3 Driver Responsibilities:

• Operate class 3 vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Complete daily inspections and correct or report all defects immediately.
• Maintain a driver's log book.
• Is constantly aware of the conditions on site to ensure that proper moisture is maintained so that compaction specifications can be met.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Maintain a positive public image of the company with appropriate personal conduct and by operating company vehicles and equipment in a safe, professional and courteous manner.
• Understand, interpret and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
• Perform pre and post trip inspections which requires climbing on the truck.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Class 3 Driver Qualifications:

• Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of the construction/trucking industry is preferred.
