T-Son Transport is seeking a reliable and experienced Chip Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across routes in British Columbia. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle operation and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle with a B-train chip trailer.
Conduct pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers.
Ensure proper loading, unloading, tarping and securement of wood chip residual loads to ensure safe transportation.
Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices.
Perform troubleshooting when necessary, and report any vehicle issues, delays, or incidents promptly.
Chain-up vehicle based on road conditions.
Follow assigned delivery schedules and routes.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues via ISAAC system.
Adhere to all safety protocols and driving regulations to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road.
Maintain cleanliness and routine care of the truck.
Requirements
Class 1 drivers license with a clean driving record.
Ability to drive in mountainous and winter conditions.
Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug & alcohol screening.
