Yard location/Terminal:

Dartmouth, NS

Workdays:

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (You will work applicable Statutory Holidays base on the scheduled working days).

Shift Start Time: 7:00PM to 7:00AM

This is a Night Shift*

End time may vary ie. dependent upon unforeseen delays, freight and or route coverage)

Overtime: Paid after 12 hours worked. Overtime is based on freight volume, weather, mechanical delays etc.

What you will do:

Drive a 53 foot Refrigerated Tractor Trailer on a dedicated route in Dartmouth and then a delivery Line Haul run from Dartmouth to Moncton*
Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time Use a handheld device to scan documents and freights Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions Back up Tractor Trailer to the dock doors successfully Complete any necessary paperwork accurately Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection Report on all safety hazards and accidents Use a cellular phone to communicate with dispatch ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc.... Provide excellent customer service Build strong client relationships Adhere to safety and compliance regulations Additional duties as required

Hourly paid ($25.00/hr. ) + 0.50 cents night premium after 9pm

What we require of you:

High School Diploma Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver's License Clean Commercial Driver's Abstract Line haul/Reefer experience is an asset

Minimum 2 years of proven Commercial Truck driving experience in a Tractor Trailer*
Ability to drive and sit for long hours Excellent communication and problem solving skills Strong organizational skills Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork Customer Focus - experience providing quality customer service Adaptable to change and or foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.) Experience working in a fast paced environment Experience working independently and with minimal supervision Ability to work on a team and being a team player Must be comfortable with using onboard or handheld computer devices Must have a safety and compliance mind set
