Job Description

No Days Off Transport Ltd. is looking for a qualified Class 1 Long Haul Truck Driver/Lowbed Operator that is safety-driven, energetic and customer service-oriented, for transport throughout BC and Alberta, with occasional trips to other Provinces.



Responsibilities & Requirements:

Excellent verbal/written English, and the ability to clearly communicate with dispatcher, customers, and other drivers. Valid Class 1 with air brake endorsement are required. At least 5 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience, including mountain experience, operating in winter conditions, and chaining up tires. Lowbed, Stepdeck experience REQUIRED. Tilt-deck experience an asset. Experience operating heavy equipment such as Excavators, Rock Trucks, Wheel Loaders, etc. is REQUIRED. The ability to self-load, self-offload various equipment is a large part of this job. Experience strapping, chaining, securing loads and tarping (tarping is occasional) Ability to take on a large workload with physically demanding tasks Ensure timely deliveries, with good time-management, while maintaining the integrity of the cargo Willing to travel for extended periods, requiring sitting for long periods of time, and overnight, as this is a long haul job. Physically fit and able to lift up to 60Lbs. Ability to work in various weather conditions Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills Knowledge of hours of service and axle weights Clean driving record. No Criminal Record. Clean drug and alcohol test (may be required)
Job Duties:

Operate and drive semi truck (Manual/Automatic) in a safe and professional manner Oversee loading/unloading of freight, to direct proper placement on trailer and to avoid damage of freight. Operate/Self-load and Self-offload various equipment on/off Lowbed/Stepdeck/Flatdeck such as Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Rock Trucks, Boom-lifts, Telehandlers, Forklifts, Skid Steers, Farm Tractors, etc. Prepare documentation for transportation of goods and record trip details, manually and electronically; Bill of Lading; Hours logged; Fuel Communicate effectively with the dispatcher and others, using electronic devices to receive and send information. Submit paperwork (bill of lading/shipping docs) effectively and maintain E-logs. Manual logbook knowledge is required as well. Ensure all cargo is properly/adequately secured, according to safety regulations. Chaining loads, and properly positioning loads for weight/dimensions. Chaining up tires in winter conditions Hooking/unhooking trailers (not often, but may be required occasionally) Experience Tarping loads (not often, but may be required occasionally) Inspect truck and trailer, overall lights, tires, turning signals, breaks, before starting trips, on the way to the trip, and after trip finished (Pre-Trip, Brake Checks/Load Checks, Post-Trip Inspections) Have a positive attitude and good personal hygiene. Maintain professional-looking equipment. Provide exceptional customer service.

All prospective candidates will be required to pass a test drive including various aspects of loading, securing and offloading.

Pay: From $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 70 per week
