We are currently looking for a

Class 1 Driver

for the Day shift who will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of raw materials, finished goods, and other products to and from PCFP facilities, customers, and suppliers. This role plays a vital part in ensuring product quality, food safety, and on-time delivery, while representing the company's values of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities



Operate and maintain Class 1 commercial vehicles in compliance with provincial and federal transportation regulations. Safely transport products between company facilities, suppliers, and customer locations, ensuring goods arrive in optimal condition and on schedule. This process may include loading/unloading and cross docking as required. Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, promptly reporting any vehicle maintenance needs or safety issues. Ensure adherence to all food safety and quality standards, including HACCP and GFSI requirements, during loading, transport, and unloading. Accurately complete trip logs, delivery records, and other required documentation in ERP/MRP systems. Support warehouse and production teams with material flow, load coordination, and scheduling as needed. Foster a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork through proactive communication and collaboration.

Organization & Problem-Solving:

Strong capacity to prioritize tasks and resolve challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Food Safety Knowledge:

Understanding of food safety standards related to food transportation guidelines (HACCP, GFSI) preferred.

Technical Skills:

Ability to understand and demonstrate load and transportation methods in addition to load scheduling, and basic data analysis.

Communication:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners. Proficiency with email, text and written communication using English as a primary language.

Qualifications



Valid Class 1 Driver's License with clean abstract. Experience with cross border and local cartage using both a Class 1 Reefer Setup and 5 ton Dry Van. Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience, preferably in food manufacturing or distribution. Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and industry best practice. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required. Physically fit to manage loading/unloading tasks and long-haul driving demands. Experience with loading/unloading operations including forklift experience preferred. Current Canadian Passport and ability to Transit the Canada/US Border on a routine basis.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
