There\'s a seat at our table for you...Position Summary:Presents a positive image to Gordon Food Service (GFS) customers through courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of GFS products. Serves as liaison between GFS management and customers. Communicates all customer issues and concerns. Operates GFS equipment in a professional and safe manner demonstrating attention to detail, safe work habits, working knowledge of Tractor-Trailer, refrigerated van and the ability to deal effectively with customers and the public. guaranteed to be home every day!Family culture and advancement opportunitiesWhat We Require:Valid Class 1 driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a clean commercial driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstractEligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TDG) certification.Strong mechanical aptitude.Professional demeanor under stressful situations.Physically fit and prior experience of repeatedly lifting, stacking, pulling and carrying heavy items (up to 80 lbs)Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluencyPrevious professional driving experience is preferredAbility to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditionsAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to work independently and in a team environmentMust be goal-oriented with a positive, \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitudeThis position requires punctuality and attention to detailResponsibilities Include:Responsibilities include correctly offloading products, recording of delivery information, accepting payment for goods when required, and ensuring operational vehicle safety in all aspects.Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationshipsManually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routesConducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reportingPerforming product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoicesFollowing health and safety and safe work procedures#GFSCAWe thank all applicants for their interest, however only those selected for the next stage will be contacted.
