Claims Specialist, Casualty





Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of casualty claims?



As a Claims Specialist, you will be at the helm of managing high-severity and complex casualty claims, including those in litigation. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring fair and efficient resolutions, conducting comprehensive file reviews, and mentoring junior claims handlers. Join our dynamic team and leverage your expertise to navigate intricate cases, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay ahead of industry trends. Your contributions will directly shape the future of our claims operations and drive our success.


What will you do?




Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and successfully resolve complex Casualty claims Proactively manage your desk by adhering to deadlines, keeping clear notes, and maintaining timely and accurate reserves Provide precise direction to legal counsel on litigated claims ensuring a positive outcome Effectively manage claim costs using strategic oversight, identifying cost-savings opportunities in alignment with operational and financial goals Actively mentor junior and intermediate level adjusters with a focus on technical skill development, while delivering constructive feedback to assist in building a high-performing team Deliver group presentations on relevant casualty topics as requested Support special projects as needed

Qualifications:




minimum 10yrs casualty file handling required Prior experience in mentoring and technical evaluation Strong analytic and negotiation skills University or college degree CIP, FCIP or CRM designations an asset Proficient in investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of claims Strong problem-solving skills Demonstrated willingness for continued development Travel may be required
