Claims Representative - Auto Physical Damage

to join our claims team.



Reporting to the Manager of Claims Services, the successful candidate will be a self starter, detail-oriented problem solver with strong communication skills and a member-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Investigating and settling first-party automobile claims through collaboration with members, sales force, appraisers, vendors and third-party adjusters Analyze auto physical damage claims, including liability, salvage and subrogation exposures Determine scope of damage, review and evaluate estimates and appraisals Negotiate settlements Review and interpret policy wordings Maintain detailed file records and accurate reserves Process claims payments within your authority level

Excellent time management and organizational skills with an appropriate sense of urgency and responsiveness Proactive and positive approach to customer service Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously Experience working with body shops, appraisers, and third-party adjusters Familiarity with salvage, subrogation, and reinsurance practices High level of integrity and excellent work ethic; takes full accountability for own work Successful candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check

Qualifications

Post-secondary certificate or equivalent (Business or Insurance program preferred) CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) or progress towards same considered an asset Minimum of 1 year of related experience in auto physical damage claims Ongoing commitment to education and learning Highly capable with computer systems/software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Completion of a Criminal Record Check will be required
