Our Accident Benefits & Bodily Injury Claims Representatives provide specialized expertise and compassionate support to Policyholders navigating the aftermath of accidents. With deep knowledge of accident benefit coverage and regulations, as well as the liability landscape, they deliver thorough, efficient claim resolution while maintaining the highest standards of care and professionalism.
This position is ideal for a dedicated professional who finds purpose in helping others during critical moments and is committed to exceptional service. The successful candidate will excel in customer relations while demonstrating reliability and proactive communication, with a strong desire to create positive experiences and develop meaningful connections with Policyholders, community partners, and colleagues.
The role focuses primarily on accident benefit and bodily injury claims, managing complex cases from initial report through resolution. The position also offers some exposure to property, auto, farm, and liability claims to broaden insurance knowledge, while field work at loss locations and on-call coverage across business lines provides additional learning opportunities and professional development.
Responsibilities:
Investigate accident benefit and bodily injury claims to determine validity and coverage, including prompt contact with insureds and providing required documentation
Conduct comprehensive claim investigations through interviews, witness statements, and detailed documentation using electronic claims management systems
Review and approve treatment plans for rehabilitation and coordinate insurer examinations
Process benefit payments after confirming eligibility, coverage limits, and reserves
Participate in dispute resolution processes and respond to claimant correspondence within legislative timeframes
Participate in meditations and court proceedings, as required
Conduct field inspections at loss locations while maintaining safety protocols
Collaborate with third-party insurers, legal representatives, and medical professionals
Support on-call coverage and gain exposure to property, auto, farm, and liability claims
Monitor outstanding files and ensure settlements align with company practices
Skills and Experience:
Post-secondary education in a business or insurance-related program is preferred
5+ years of accident benefits and/or bodily injury adjusting experienced is preferred
Obtained or willing to work towards the Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
Proficiency with electronic claims management systems and technology
Experience with dispute resolution processes including Licence Appeal Tribunal hearings
Strong understanding of the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule and applicable legislation
Empathetic with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Effective organizational and time management skills with proven capacity to prioritize responsibilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with natural ability to build collaborative relationships
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
