Job Description


Position Summary
The .Net/Javascript Solution Developer will be responsible for creating and maintaining enterprise applications and services that our business relies on. Working with business sponsors, analysts and other members of the technical staff, the .Net/Javascript Solution Developer will strive for efficiency and robustness in the designing, implementation, testing, and supporting of our applications using modern approaches, technologies and best practices.

  • The initial focus will be integrating our workflow system (based on Power Platform and Azure technologies) with additional on-prem systems using C#, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Future projects include:
    • Converting existing Mulesoft integrations to microservices and custom UIs
    • Migrating existing on-prem workloads to the cloud
    • Designing hybrid solutions where data needs to remain on-prem for compliance reasons

Key Responsibilities:
We are a growing company and things will change but the main responsibilities include:
  • Provide solutions to critical requests to support new business initiatives and improve efficiency, accuracy and compliance for existing financial processes
  • Improve applications to sustain Validus’ competitive edge utilizing leading edge technologies
  • Design and develop major components and modules
  • Improve technical foundation using proven architecture patterns, frameworks and libraries
  • Prototyping and POC development for urgent business needs
  • Work as part of a collective team environment, both providing suggestions on how to improve architecture and design of existing codebase and receptive to alternative design approaches

Qualifications:

Technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace. We need people who make it their mission to keep up with latest trends in order to benefit our customers and products.
  • 5+ years of experience with C#, Javascript, ASP.NET, MVC, ADO.NET, Entity Framework, HTML, and CSS
  • Good working knowledge of SQL Server and PostgreSQL
  • Working knowledge of Azure and its resources
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git or similar tools
  • Enterprise Queueing/Streaming experience with Kafka preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience with Micro-service architectures using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience integrating systems using REST and SOAP APIs
  • Familiarity with the ELK Stack
  • Exposure or knowledge of Angular or VUE (or similar Javascript front end framework) is beneficial
  • Exposure or knowledge of Python/Flask for API creation is beneficial
  • Exposure or knowledge of Sharepoint Online, Power Platform or MS Dynamics is beneficial
