International Quest Engineering Ltd.

(IQE) has an opportunity for a Civil/Structural Engineer with a growth mindset to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop, plan and coordinate structural designs for an exciting mix of structural engineering projects for industrial, commercial and residential projects.

This is a growth-oriented position with a variety of tasks ranging from leading design work in the office, to field work at the job site.

The preferred candidate will be self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and focus on quality. Good communication and client-facing skills are a necessity. The candidate must be an EIT or P. Eng. with 2+ years of relevant experience.

The candidate most likely to succeed in this role will have a demonstrated record of achievement based on them being:

A self-starter, confident, direct, resourceful, results focused

Proactive, having a sense of urgency in responding to client requirements and deadlines

Strong communication skills

Qualifications

BSc/Engineering with a major in Civil/Structural Engineering

2+ years of engineering experience designing steel, concrete, and wood frame structures.

Attention to detail

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability & willingness to work in a field setting

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and structural analysis software packages

Responsibilities

Provide engineering services for various aspects of design including design calculations, analysis, drawing reviews, report writing

Perform field activities such as field reviews, provide on-site support to tradespersons, produce field reports, take and verify measurements

Completing project documentation required by professional bodies

Project coordination

Develop project budgets

Collaborate with contractors, architects and other stakeholders
