Position Overview

Calian is currently seeking a civilian Physician with specialized training, to practice at the medical clinic at CFB Comox on a part-time basis. Pay range between $200 - $228 /hour

Responsibilities

Assess fitness for duty, including pre- and post-deployment evaluations, periodic medical exams, recruitment medical exams, hazardous trade assessments, and evaluations following injury or illness Diagnose and treat work-related or environmental injuries and illnesses, including rehabilitation Determine medical employment limitations, approve or recommend sick leave, and assign or recommend changes to medical category in accordance with policies Maintain occupational health records (electronic medical records and other forms of documentation) Provide comprehensive primary care to patients with chronic or acute health issues, including referrals to other healthcare providers as needed Provide clinical supervision and oversight to other members of the health care team within the clinic, including Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Medical Technicians, and Primary Care Nurses Other associated tasks relevant to this occupational group

Qualifications

Medical license in good standing from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) 1 year of equivalent full-time experience working in a CF Health Services Centre as a primary care physician 5 years of experience directly providing patient medical care in one or more of the following settings: ambulatory primary care, occupational medicine, urgent care/emergency medicine

Additional Requirements

Regular daytime schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., allowing work-life balance - no evenings or weekends Ability to obtain a government security clearance
