We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.We are looking for a Civil Technologist to join and grow with our dynamic, expanding Transportation team in Saskatchewan. You will work closely with our local team of professionals, in a variety of functions, delivering projects including municipal infrastructure, roadway and drainage and highway designs and for our public and private sector clients in Saskatchewan.Primary Responsibilities
Work closely with project engineers and senior technical staff in carrying out and reporting on technical tasks requiring data collection, accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed standards and methods
Participate in the technical design, of urban and rural roadways and highways, resource roadways, among other specific projects.
Create and modify figures, drawings and detailed design plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
Assist in the development of 3D models & calculations.
Ensure drafting standards meet current design and Client standards, guidelines and other requirements.
Profile
Civil Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
5+ years experience in all aspects of urban roadway and highway/freeway design (e.g. alignments, geometrics, staging, signage, pavement markings, utilities, quantities and cost estimates, documentation)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills to plan, organize and implement work within a specified budget while meeting the project deadlines
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam
Experience using AutoTurn and Guide Sign would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of City of Saskatoon and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways design and drafting standards would be considered and asset.
