Soli Solutions is currently hiring a permanent Field Technologist / Civil Technician. SOLI is seeking an intermediate Civil Technologist. Having received a diploma in civil engineering technologies would be an asset but is not required. The successful applicant would be stationed out of our Regina or Saskatoon office, with the ability to work from home when scheduling allows. SOLI encourages all employees to take advantage of a hybrid working model, with each employee dictating where they would like to work from. As part of the SOLI team, the successful candidate will be mentored by a team of senior engineers, technologists, and project managers. This role will require an individual with strong interpersonal, leadership, and time management skills. Responsibilities will include providing engineering services on construction sites at a variety of projects across the province. Specific responsibilities include: \xc2\xb7 Performing RTK GPS surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking as required on projects. \xc2\xb7 Leading projects such as culvert installations, intersection treatments, grading and surfacing projects as the onsite supervisor or resident quality supervisor. \xc2\xb7 Providing contractor and construction supervision and contract interpretation. \xc2\xb7 Conducting field and lab material testing (aggregate, soils) with an emphasis on accuracy and timely submission of results. \xc2\xb7 Performing project management duties which includes communicating with client project managers and contractors\xe2\x80\x99 staff regarding the contract requirements. \xc2\xb7 Writing reports and providing interpretation of contract documents and test results. o Knowledge of Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways Construction practices is considered an asset. \xc2\xb7 Performing financial reporting as required by senior managers and clients. \xc2\xb7 Contributing to a positive safety culture. \xc2\xb7 Other tasks as required Requirements Qualifications and Experience \xc2\xb7 Knowledge / experience with GPS surveying equipment and procedures would be considered a strong asset, specifically RTK GPS and the associated software programs such as Trimble Access or Lecia SurvCE. \xc2\xb7 Applicant must be willing to travel for work and be stationed in remote locations around Saskatchewan for periods of 10 -20 consecutive days. o Accommodations, vehicle rental or mileage, and LOA will be provided by Soli Solutions. \xc2\xb7 Willing to work long hours independently including overtime and weekends. \xc2\xb7 Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. \xc2\xb7 Must have valid Class 5 Driver\'s License and provide a clean Driver\'s abstract. \xc2\xb7 Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. \xc2\xb7 Must be able to lift or move 50lbs, stand for long periods, walk over rough terrain, and perform repetitive movements. \xc2\xb7 4 \xe2\x80\x93 10 years of experience working in the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction industry or transportation engineering would be considered an asset (including summer season work).
