The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design/Drafting of highway rehabilitation projects using AutoCAD software
  • Create designs, complete calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings
  • Undertake design related project tasks under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
  • Collaborate efforts within large design teams across various offices with multidisciplinary team members including Engineers, environmental planners, engineering technologists and administrative support staff
  • Monitor project plans and project schedules
  • Participate in meetings with internal staff as well as clients
  • Document decisions from meetings and following up on action items
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and studies
  • Collect and analyze data
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Technical Civil Diploma
  • 1+ year experience in highway design
  • 1+ years using AutoCAD software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Self-motivated and dependable as an individual and in a team focused environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong technical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with Microstation, OpenRoads Designer software or InRoads software will be considered an asset
  • Field and construction inspection experience will be considered an asset
Additional Information
  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $45,000 - $55,000.
  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
