Civil Supervisor Utilities

Industry: Utilities / Civil ConstructionAbout the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to oversee utility construction projects across Vancouver. You will be responsible for managing site crews, ensuring safety and quality standards, and keeping projects on schedule and within budget. • Supervise civil construction activities related to underground utilities, water, sewer, and stormwater systems.
• Lead and coordinate field crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans.
• Monitor site progress, address challenges, and adjust schedules as needed.
• Ensure all work adheres to municipal regulations, engineering standards, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to keep projects on track.
• Conduct daily site inspections and toolbox talks to reinforce safety practices.
• Maintain accurate site reports, daily logs, and project documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction, preferably in utilities.
• Strong knowledge of underground utility installations (water, sewer, hydro, telecom, etc.).
• Proven experience supervising and leading construction crews.
• Familiarity with municipal bylaws, BC utility regulations, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
• Valid Drivers License (Class 5) and a clean driving record.
• Safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, CSTS, WHMIS) are an asset.
