As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa, we are seeking a qualified Civil Superintendent to join our team. The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision of the civil construction on the project, including to supervise crews and subcontractors to ensure that the work complies with the safety policies, budget and schedule. Your role within the team: To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Direct all field personnel and subcontractors to achieve completion of projects on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications
  • Develop construction work methods for drainage, roadworks, MSE walls, wetland rehabilitation, and utilities relocations
  • Review and understand project drawings and identify potential changes required
  • Communicate with clients, subcontractors, architects, stakeholders, engineers and project delivery team
  • Plan equipment rentals or purchases and coordinate material deliveries
  • Prepare 3-week schedule and integrate with the overall project schedule with the project team
  • Keep logs of site activity and report issues in a timely manner to the Construction Manager
The ideal candidate will bring:
  • A minimum of 10 years previous experience in a supervisory role on a multi-disciplinary construction project
  • Demonstrated knowledge in standard civil construction methodologies
  • Effectiveness in Microsoft Office and other applications used on the project
  • Excellent time management, communication and leadership skills
  • Must hold a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
  • Experience on a linear or rail project is an asset
