Position Overview

Brass Inc. is looking for a Civil Restoration Driver/Operator in a full-time permanent position working out of our main yard in Utica, Ontario. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for all phases of restoration in a job. The operator must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills and time management in order to meet or exceed client expectations. The Civil Restoration Operator will be operating a Dump truck & Trailer and include, but not limited to, a Mini-Ex (Cat 304, or 306) or skid steer (Cat 259D).

A day in the life

:

Excavation manually and/or with the use of a Mini-Excavator

Setting and placing GLBs in a variety of settings and soil conditions

Assist with the removal of all debris from work sites

Assist with general site preparation and clean-up as directed (housekeeping)

Able to complete landscaping restoration work

Complete all work orders, timesheets, and tailboards in an accurate and timely manner (i.e., production tracking)

Safely loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed

Able to read construction plans, cable plans, and locates

Ability to assess the work environment for potential health and safety hazards and ensure work is completed safely

Assist with handling and distributing construction materials

Create and maintain a traffic control plan on site

Effectively and efficiently taking directions from supervisors and operations managers.

Recording any deficiencies and reporting any to the Fleet Manager.

Recording and reporting any incidents such as hits, near misses, injuries, accidents, or fatalities immediately to the Operations Manager and the Health and Safety Coordinator.

What you bring to Brass Inc.:

Minimum 3 years of construction or civil industry experience

Physically fit and capable of safely lifting 23 kg (50 lbs.)

Good communication skills and work attitude

Organized and quality-driven

Valid AZ or ARZ driver's license with a clean driving abstract

Hard working and follows instructions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$46.55 per hour

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
Licence/Certification:

DZ or ARZ license (preferred)
