Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal Schedule: 8+ hours per day, 5 & 2 or 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week or 10 hr/day or 40 hr/week Location: Edmonton and Surrounding Area\xe2\x80\x99s - no direct access to public transportation Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions
Requirements:

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6\xe2\x80\x9d ankle support
• Clean Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Abstract, Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License (non GDL)

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing (urine-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Civil Project Manager Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate construction operations with the ability to utilize available equipment while maintaining a schedule and completing critical tasks.
• Supervise the foreman\xe2\x80\x99s daily activities; ensuring their crews tasks are performed efficiently.
• Ensuring all safety practice and procedures are followed by generating site-specific safety protocols.
• Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
• Coordinating and managing scheduling conflicts between sub-contractors.
• Maintaining records of daily construction activities, including worker timesheets, daily progress reports and safety documentation.
• Maintaining positive and professional relationships with external stakeholders.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company\xe2\x80\x99s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Civil Project Manager Qualifications:

• Civil or Construction Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent.
• 10 or more year\xe2\x80\x99s combined field experience in Civil Construction (earthworks and/or underground utilities) with a minimum of 5 years as a project manager/superintendent in heavy civil construction.
• Supervise heavy equipment operators, and labourers
• Coordinate and schedule activities
• Recommend staffing actions and arrange for training
• Familiar with Heavy Civil Construction methodology and best practices required.
• Effective leadership skills with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
• Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
• Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs, investigate the underlying causes and identify short/long term solutions.
• The following training courses are required: Leadership for Safety Excellence, Prime Contractor, CSTS-09, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level 2, and WHMIS.
