ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client has been working in the Lower Mainland for nearly 50 years and began as a family start up. They specialise in infrastructure, site preparation, excavation, utilities and environmental. They are based in Fraser Valley but have projects throughout the Lower Mainland.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

In this position you will be responsible for the installation of utilities such as storm, sanitary, water, telecommunications in deep and shallow excavations throughout the Lower Mainland. There are plenty of internal growth opportunities and we are looking for candidates that are looking to advance in their career and eventually move into a Foreman position.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Pipelayer you will report to the Foreman on site and be part of a team of 4-5 other pipelayers. Your duties and responsibilities will include the following:

• Measuring and configuring pipe routes.
• Gathering material and installation tools.
• Digging trenches using hand and machine trenching tools.
• Locating installed piping systems using magnetic or radio indicators.
• Removing old or broken piping systems.
• Laying pipes into trenches and applying pipe spacers.
• Checking pipe alignment and sealing pipes with cement glue.
• Installing auxiliary lines.
• Sealing exposed pipe joints and fittings.
• Filling and sealing pipe trenches

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Valid drivers license
• Pipelaying experience
• Civil construction experience

COMPENSATION

• $32 \xe2\x80\x93 $40 depending on experience
• Dental and health benefits
• Overtime available
