Pipe Layer:
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Site Foreman, the Pipe Layer is responsible for installing new sewer and water pipes and fittings.
Cut, lay, align, and cover pipes for storm and/or sanitary sewers, drains, and water mains.
Load, unload, and transport construction materials.
Maintain a clean and safe environment by general clean-up of site and equipment.
Report any equipment hazards or issues to site supervisor.
Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
1-2 years of pipe laying required.
Valid driver's license with good driver's abstract; class 3 will be considered an asset.
Understanding local plumbing codes and regulations is an asset.
Able to read and understand blueprints is an asset.
Physically capable of performing the duties of the position; standing, sitting, lifting, etc. for extended periods of time.
Work in various weather conditions (hot/humid weather, rain, snow, winter, etc.).
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills.
Safety-first attitude.
Provide: Hard hat, High Vis Vest, CSA approved Steel-toed safety boots.
Highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
Must be located in the Greater Victoria area or willing to relocate.
Civil Foreman:
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the Site Superintendent with the planning, implementation, and management of project priorities according to the schedule.
Complete a site walk around at the beginning and end of each shift.
Supervise tasks being completed by site crews and subcontractors.
Delegate responsibilities and tasks to site crews, subcontractors, and other workers according to priorities and plans.
Assist with conducting weekly Toolbox Talks, weekly Worksite Inspections, Site Specific Safety Orientations and Safety Reporting.
Complete daily logs, as required.
Working with or making things with wood in the construction, installation or repair of structures or components of structures.
Preparing site and building layouts.
Constructing foundations and concrete structures.
Framing structures.
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
Assembling, erecting, installing and dismantling structures.
Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades required at construction sites.
Assist tradespersons such as Foremen and trade partners in construction activities.
Dig trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications, using appropriate tool.
Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment.
Perform other activities at construction sites as directed.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in Commercial Construction, experience in Tenant Improvements and Operational Renovations, Journeyperson Certificate is considered an asset.
Experience as a Foreman with a General Contractor, working on projects between $1-10 million.
Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.
Productive in a team environment.
Understands and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, push/pull, bend and crouch frequently and work in adverse weather conditions.
Highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
Must be located in the Greater Victoria area or willing to relocate.
Equipment Operator:
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Sinking shafts utilizing a variety of methodologies and operating equipment below grade.
Installing and working in trench boxes and shoring.
Working in confined spaces and at heights.
Using multiple attachments on equipment (i.e.: buckets, breakers, grapples, sweepers, forks).
Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures; operate equipment safely around other machinery and ground crews.
Ensuring all tickets are up to date and valid prior to operating equipment.
Coordinate with site supervisor so that all excavations meet OH&S requirements i.e.: valid locates, back slope on excavations, spoil pile location crossing agreements, etc.
Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
Ensure company equipment, material and work site are maintained, kept clean and stored in a safe manner.
Responsible for documenting pre use equipment inspection and communicating any deficiencies to Site Supervisor.
Responsible for daily maintenance and assisting routine repairs of heavy-duty equipment.
When not operating, assist team with all day-to-day labouring activities.
Participate in daily HSE meetings and work area inspections.
Tracking of volumes and loads out while mucking out drill cuttings.
Mixing off and drying cuttings prior to loading out.
Cleaning and fueling of equipment onsite.
Following equipment specifications and limitations i.e.: lift capacities/charts, approach/working angles, swing radius, etc.
Inspecting and documenting all rigging accessories prior to use.
Setting up exclusion zones.
Assisting others on site with their tasks as needed.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Your Qualifications and Experience
A comprehensive understanding of excavation procedures, using various techniques and methods.
Experience with operation of wheeled and track excavation machines to complete work scope.
Knowledge of different hydraulic flow rates depending on attachment specifications.
Experience in utilizing lifting attachments and OH&S regulations pertaining to task.
Following equipment specifications and limitations i.e.: lift capacities/charts, approach/working angles, swing radius, etc.
Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
General Labourer
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Assisting in the setup and clean-up of construction sites.
Using hand and power tools to perform a wide range of labor tasks.
Operating construction machinery, such as compactors, trenchers, backhoes, and front-end loaders.
Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, and scaffolding.
Ensuring that all work is completed according to plans and specifications.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by removing hazards and disposing of waste materials.
Following all safety guidelines to protect team members and the public from injury.
Performing other duties as requested by the site supervisor

You must arrive at site on time, ready and willing to work in all weather conditions.
