Your Opportunity

The role of an entry level civil engineer is to work on smaller projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the close guidance and supervision of a senior engineer/designer.

You will perform a variety of tasks which may include preparing calculations, coordinating simple tasks, performing civil designs and assist more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments.

Your Key Responsibilities

Uses knowledge of the general concepts of relevant civil engineering elements including the design of roadways, drainage, grading, earthworks, and stormwater management for industrial projects.

Performs design calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.

Supports project team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for relevant project design elements.

Develop familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, technical design standards, and industry standards and guidelines.

Performs material take-offs (MTO\'s) and coordinates basic cost estimation.

Writing and editing technical reports and engineering studies.

Assists in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.

Assist with preparation of design drawings and specifications.

Coordinating with other engineers and technical staff to ensure that the projects\' needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil design.

Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

Basic understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D and any other relevant design software and knowledge of calculations performed by the software.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation.

Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team.

Education and Experience

Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from recognized university.

0-4 years of relevant experience.

Licensure/Certification: EIT certification preferred; EIT certification required to be successfully obtained within 12 months of employment.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
