Job Description

The Civil CAD Designer will work with the pre-construction team consisting of project managers, field operation superintendents, CAD manager and design engineers, utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and related products to provide site development drawings and construction sequences.

Essential Functions:

• Evaluate and assess site conditions prior to construction
• Develop phased site development 2-D and 3-D drawings for construction
• Construction site mapping (geolocation)
• Material quantity take-offs (excavation, backfill, gravel road, etc.)
• Produce construction sequences for field operations
• Coordinate with field superintendents and construction managers, design engineers, and others to meet constructability requirements
• Design of utilities (underground waterline, wastewater, electrical, etc)

• High proficient use of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Minimum 5 years drafting experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D with a professional civil design / consulting firm or comparable experience
• Disciplined in Civil Engineering / Technology / Technician
• Extensive experience with 3-D modeling in grading, ground surfacing, roads, etc.
• Understanding of engineering principles, fabrication, assembly and construction
• Experience with steel, concrete, and mechanical design.
• Able to work on multiple tasks, with excellent work management skills
• Ability to work in teams on completion of deliverables with challenging schedules
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
