Title: Civil Utilitiest Co-op - Markham

Position Summary:

Hatch is seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist Co-op Student with interest in civil engineering design and drafting for a 4-month internship (we can also accomodate longer terms if students are available). Reporting to the Utility Engineering Lead you will support offices globally working from our Markham office.

Responsibilities:

• Support project managers, project engineers and designers in the preparation of detailed design for civil engineering infrastructure/utilities projects

• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering task for municipal infrastructure projects
• Assist in CAD design of municipal infrastructure including sewer, watermains, and other related work
• Coordination with other technicians in designing drainage and utilities provision for development, urban regeneration, and transportation projects
• Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications for consistency
• Compilation of design drawings
• Preparing design submissions and other technical documents
• Assistance to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed

Education and Experience:

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technology co-op program at an accredited college
• Strong CAD skills, and experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D/Microstation/OpenRoads is an asset
• Experience in Utility and Pipe Line design such as developing infrastructure plans and profiles is an asset
• Comfortable working in both 2D and 3D environments
• Positive team attitude and approach, results oriented and ability to work independently
