Job Title: Cisco Certified Sr. Network Analyst



Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Hybrid - Primarily Remote)


Duration: 8+ Months Contract (with possible 6-month extension)



About the Role



We are seeking an experienced

Senior Network Analyst

to support the Correctional Centre Wi-Fi Modernization Project. This role involves implementing, configuring, and supporting network infrastructure upgrades across multiple provincial facilities.

You'll work closely with cross-functional IT teams to modernize network environments, enhance wireless connectivity, and ensure stable, secure, and high-performing network operations across Alberta correctional centers.

Key Responsibilities



Develop network documentation and Visio diagrams. Configure, install, and connect

Wireless Access Points (WAPs)

. Configure and test

Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs)

and WAPs. Configure and install

Cisco switches

and assist with core network cabling. Set up, configure, and test

Cisco firewalls

and

client connectivity

. Assist with

SD-WAN services setup, configuration, and testing

. Provide proactive network monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization. Implement and manage

high-availability network services

in alignment with client SLAs. Participate in cross-functional IT projects, contributing network expertise and documentation. Maintain and update network-related procedures and best practices. Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to technical teams.

Qualifications



Must Have



Education:



University degree in Computer Science or related discipline and

5+ years of Network Analyst experience

, OR 2-year diploma with

7+ years

, OR 1-year certificate with

8+ years

, OR

9+ years of relevant experience

in lieu of formal education.

Certification:

Active

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

or equivalent (must include proof).

Experience:



5+ years creating technical documentation and network diagrams. 3+ years troubleshooting and customer service in technical environments. 3+ years with Cisco Layer 1-3 technologies (switching, routing, LAN/WAN). 3+ years working with 802.11 wireless networks. 3+ years with Cisco OTV and QOS across enterprise networks. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Linux/Unix servers, and enterprise-level networking.

Availability:

Able to work evenings/weekends as needed during change windows.

Nice to Have



Experience with

BGP, OSPF, EIGRP

, and other routing protocols. Hands-on with

Cisco ISE

,

IPv6

,

MPLS/VPLS

, and

wireless WAN

. Prior experience with

Alberta SuperNet

or large-scale government networks. Familiarity with

VMware SRM

and

Data Centre disaster recovery

. Understanding of

FOIP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy)

considerations in network design.

Work Conditions



Primary Location:

J.G. O'Donoghue Building, 7000 - 113 St, Edmonton, AB.

Work Arrangement:

Primarily

remote

, with occasional on-site meetings or travel within Alberta.

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM (Alberta time).

Travel:

Occasional travel to provincial facilities may be required (unpaid by client).

Equipment:

Contractor must supply their own compatible computer and accessories.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 months

Pay: $80.00-$85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
