About the Opportunity



We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic full-time

Cinematographer/Editor

to join our team in

Waterloo, ON.

You will need to be prepared to travel to various locations and work varying hours as required.

Reporting to the Vice President of Media Production, you will work with our team creative and media production professionals, external vendors, and our clients on a variety of projects. You'll shoot amazing images that help visually tell our stories. You'll also be shaping those stories through editing. You'll be at the forefront of Memory Tree's continued expansion into new types of brand storytelling, including interactive and immersive multimedia experiences.

Your duties will also include, but are not limited to:

About You:



Working as a part of our team in various environments with a wide range of video, lighting and audio equipment to create incredible imagery and put it together through editing to tell our stories.
Filming various types of projects (interviews, live events, b-roll, tutorials, etc.)
Lighting interviews and scenes
Editing using Adobe Premiere
Colour correcting with Davinci Resolve
Editing a variety of projects including multi-camera mixing, interviews, marketing, social media content, documentary, etc.
Contributing creative ideas in pre-production as well as on set.

To qualify, you'll need

3+ years of successful cinematography and editing experience

as part of a creative, film/TV, or media production agency, or marketing department. You also possess

post-secondary education

in a related field or equivalent experience, and can show a strong portfolio that demonstrates originality, innovation, and multi-disciplinary thinking.

The following skills and experience are also required:

Ability to work in a busy and creative environment, diligently balancing many projects at once with tight deadlines and production schedules.
Self-motivated and detail oriented, with the ability to work equally well independently, and as part of a diverse creative team.
Positivity and passion for creativity and storytelling.
Ability to understand and respond well to feedback and criticism.
A strong customer service and teamwork mindset.
A strong collaborative approach and skills for problem-solving.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including Premiere Pro CC.
After Effects experience is a plus.
Experience with various 4K camera units.
Experience with various camera supports and rigs.
Experience with video lighting for both scenes and interviews.
Experience with audio recording gear.
Experience working within existing brand guidelines.
Experience working with email, calendar, and productivity software (e.g. Google Workspace, etc.)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English - written (email) and verbal (Bilingual in French is considered an asset, but not required)
Drone certification is a definite asset, but not required.
Class G driver's license and the ability to travel to locations not served by public transportation.
