EA Create is currently looking for a Cinematic Designer to join our team in assisting BioWare on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. EA Create is known to partner with AAA studios such as BioWare, Respawn, and Maxis, and assist on the critically acclaimed Madden and FIFA franchises. This is your opportunity to be part of a collaborative group with team members all over the world and have your work shown to millions of viewers, players, peers, and industry professionals.

You would report to a director within the Animation team and be responsible for designing and creating cinematic moments that move the story. You will work with partners in multiple disciplines, locations, and departments to develop quality entertainment that will immerse our players. In the end, the look of a game is one of the most significant factors contributing to the success of the game.

Role Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional game design experience or equivalent industry experience as a layout / previsualization artist.
  • 1+ shipped titles in a cinematic, animation, or narrative design capacity.
  • Reliable internet service to work remotely.
  • Familiarity with one or more game engine tools.
  • Working knowledge of Maya / MotionBuilder.
  • Experience with cinematic language, frame composition, pacing, tone, and narrative structure.
  • Understanding of branching dialogue and RPG interaction mechanics.
Role Expectations:
  • Ensure cinematics are presented in compelling and immersive ways.
  • Autonomously create cinematics from block-out to polish within our interactive narrative systems
  • Script engaging interactive in-game conversations and cinematic moments.
  • Work within an existing animation library to create compelling action and emotionally motivated moments between characters.
  • Uphold established cinematic standards across the game and broader IP to maintain a design language.
  • Manage the scope and budget of assigned tasks to meet project deadlines without jeopardizing the players\' experience.
  • Participate in reviews, stand-ups, playtests, and work across departments.
  • Be collaborative, receive feedback, and constructively critique peers.
BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES
  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
\xc2\xba $63,350 - $98,800 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and after 3 months of service - extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
