Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and dedicated Cinema Manager to oversee the smooth running of our cinema operations. The Cinema Manager will be responsible for a range of duties including managing cinema rentals, general management, and providing on-call support. The leader we seek will be able to operate independently with a high degree of autonomy, have strong communication and organizational skills, a love of film, and is an excellent team player.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate bookings and rentals to avoid scheduling conflicts. Rentals require detailed communication. Box office reporting and help with facilitating distributor payments Staff/Volunteer communication, scheduling/supervising and hiring and training Working with the CFS board and preparing monthly reports Premises management and communicating with the landlord Monitor and update projector booth, equipment in cinema and canteen Work or cover occasional shows or rentals as needed Film prep and testing with assistance from Staff Banking deposits and coin/cash management Veezi management and troubleshooting Processing of occasional online refunds Film shipping and receiving Creation of social media content and posting of them Manage budgeting
Requirements:

Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably in a cinema or similar environment. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends. Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly and effectively. Knowledge of cinema operations, including booking and rentals.
Please note: This role requires a high degree of flexibility and the ability to be 'on call' for certain periods. It is essential that the successful candidate is comfortable with this aspect of the role. Training can be provided for the right candidate.

The ability to quickly learn new technical skills, particularly if the candidate has

limited or no experience with digital projection;

Proven experience in delivering excellent customer service within an events

or public-facing environment;

Ability to undertake manual work and be agile enough to access the projection room via ladder;

An understanding of stock/cost control systems;

This position is based out of Charlottetown, and is a hybrid in-person/at-home work

environment. It is expected that the Manager will be on site at least five hours per week.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
