PDU Cloud RAN is a organization that will be leading the acceleration and creation of a cloud-native Radio Access Network (RAN) product offering with commercial engagements starting during 2020. The PDU will contain in one organization total life-cycle capability from architecture definition to deployment in customer networks & capability to chip in to open source communities.

A culture and spirit of collaboration across the different product/line/project entities is of vital importance to be able to benefit from the R&D efficiency improvements we could gain from cloud native technology, COTS development environment and an efficient CI/CD pipeline in the e2e flow. Our System DevOps department plays a strategic role in making sure that the Cloud RAN solutions meet our customers' expectations. Our mission is to:

Continuously improve quality assurance:

  • from the HW up to the microservices
  • functionally (end-to-end features) and non-functionally (serviceability, performance, robustness)
By knowing and showing at any time:
  • Quality indicators such as test coverage and pass rates
  • Fault slip-through analysis and improvements needed
Supporting the microservice teams to deliver:
  • Microservices directly into any customer network configuration
  • As-a-Product for classic customers
Quickly and efficient by:
  • Consulting and mentoring e2e teams in test and integration
  • Automating anything that can be automated
  • Providing test environments and tools just in time
  • Providing feedback that allows quick trouble - shooting and resolution
You will :
  • Establishing a new CI/CD (continues integration / continues deployment) team in Ottawa
  • Provide CI & CD services that enables rapid e2e development of Ericsson products through open source technologies, high-quality work, and an innovative and service-oriented approach
  • Working closely with the CI/CD team in Kista to enable follow the sun support
  • Be involved across all stages of the product life cycle
  • Build the CI/CD solutions for different products
  • Build customer and internal feedback loops to enable DevOps
  • Intelligent analysis (AI/ML) of production environment data to optimize our flows
  • Build metrics visualization
  • Customer trials/demos/presentations
To be successful in the role you must have :
  • Proven technical knowledge in the CI/CD and containers domain for example working with Jenkins, Spinnaker, GITLAB, GIT, Gerrit, Docker, Kubernetes, ELK or similar tools
  • Work in a clear way where we share our learning to secure that we as a team always are learning
  • Always keep a CI/CD approach and incorporated automation right at the very beginning
  • A service-minded approach, Team is there to lend a hand when problems arise. We have a service-minded orientation and help within and outside the team boundaries
  • Drive and accept innovation and change with a collaborative approach
  • Strong drive towards achievements, delivery timelines
